Short answer: yes, Honey lists both stores. As of November 2026, Honey's store pages for AliExpress and DHgate show coupon codes and rewards on eligible purchases. So does Rakuten, which offers cash back on both.
The better question is whether a general-purpose coupon extension is the best tool for these two stores. AliExpress and DHgate have coupon rules that trip up anything built for a "normal" online store, and that is where store-specific extensions earn their place.
This guide explains what each option actually does, so you can pick the right one, or the right combination.
Why AliExpress and DHgate are different from other stores
On most shops, a coupon extension has an easy job: try a list of codes and keep the one that gives the biggest discount. Two things make AliExpress and DHgate harder.
1. One promo code per order, and it competes with coupons you already have. On AliExpress, a promo code goes into the same slot as the AliExpress coupons in your account. In our own testing, applying a weaker code replaced a better account coupon and the total went up. DHgate behaves similarly: it often applies a store coupon and a DHcoupon for you, and a typed code only helps if it beats them.
2. Codes are local and short-lived. AliExpress releases promo codes for each sale, and they differ by country and currency, so a US-dollar code usually won't work on a Canadian checkout. DHgate publishes a new set of sitewide codes every month.
A shared list of codes can't account for either of these. What you want is a tool that knows the current codes for your checkout and checks whether your total actually went down.
The options compared
Honey (PayPal)
- What it does: tests coupon codes from Honey's database at checkout and offers rewards on eligible purchases.
- Covers AliExpress and DHgate: yes, according to Honey's own store pages.
- Good for: people who already use Honey everywhere and want one extension for every store.
- Worth knowing: Honey has been the subject of lawsuits, filed from late 2024, alleging that it replaced other affiliates' referral links at checkout. The cases are pending and PayPal denies the allegations. As of November 2026 its Chrome Web Store listing shows about 12 million users and a 2.2-star rating.
Rakuten
- What it does: cash back. You activate it before shopping and a percentage of eligible purchases comes back to you later.
- Covers AliExpress and DHgate: yes. Rates change often; Rakuten showed a 2% base rate on both stores when we checked, with occasional boosted promotions.
- Good for: larger orders where a percentage back adds up. Cash back arrives weeks later, not at checkout.
Alitools and AliPrice (AliExpress only)
- What they do: shopping assistants for AliExpress product pages: price history charts (3 or 6 months), price-drop alerts, seller checks, and promo code features. Both disclose that they use affiliate links.
- Good for: deciding whether to buy. A price-history chart is the best defence against a "70% off" label on a price that was raised last week.
- Not built for: collecting store coupons across a multi-seller cart at checkout.
Backit (formerly ePN Cashback)
- What it does: cash back on AliExpress and other stores, plus price tracking.
- Good for: shoppers who prefer cash back to coupons.
AutoAli and DHgate Auto Coupon (Coupanda)
These are our extensions, so weigh this section accordingly. We built them specifically for the two problems above.
- AutoAli collects the store coupons for every seller in your AliExpress order, finds the current sitewide promo codes for your country and currency, and applies the best one. It measures your total before and after and only keeps a code that lowers it.
- DHgate Auto Coupon tries this month's DHgate codes your order qualifies for, biggest first, and keeps whichever result (a code, or the coupon DHgate already applied) gives the lowest total.
- Good for: paying less at checkout on these two stores specifically. Both are free, need no account, and never place an order for you.
So which should you install?
| If you want... | Use |
|---|---|
| The lowest total at AliExpress checkout | AutoAli |
| The lowest total at DHgate checkout | DHgate Auto Coupon |
| To know if a "sale" price is real | Alitools or AliPrice |
| Money back after the order | Rakuten or Backit |
| One extension for every store you shop | Honey |
Our recommendation: use one coupon tool at checkout and, if you like, a separate price-history tool for browsing. Running several coupon extensions on the same checkout is a recipe for them undoing each other's work, typing different codes into the same box.
How to check any coupon extension before you install it
- Look at the permissions. A store-specific tool should only ask for access to that store's pages, not "read and change all your data on all websites."
- Find the affiliate disclosure. Since June 2025, Chrome Web Store policy requires coupon extensions to disclose affiliate programs and to only apply affiliate links when you take an action that benefits you, like applying a coupon. See Google's policy update.
- Check it compares totals. On AliExpress and DHgate, "a code was applied" and "you paid less" are not the same thing.
- Read recent reviews, not just the star rating. Look for mentions of the store you shop at.
The bottom line
Honey and Rakuten both work on AliExpress and DHgate, and they are fine general-purpose tools. But both stores reward a tool that understands their one-code rule, their local codes and their store coupons. If most of your online shopping happens on AliExpress or DHgate, a store-specific extension will usually get you a lower total at checkout.
